How many times do we need to say it? Without Kakko heading to Buffalo. Eichel wont be wearing a Ranger Jersey.

I would think Zibanejad would need to be part of a package for Jack. Buchnevich, Strome and DeAngelo don’t even get considered. Zibanejad, Kravstov, ‘20 1st and Gauthier might do it.

Literally every fan base on here.

A different fan base offers a weak trade for Eichel.

Every other fan base, that isn't enough it would cost your best young player plus.

Every fan base that just said that, here is a trade for Eichel that doesn't include our best young player plus.

Everyone immediately yells quality over quantity.

Just to be clear everyone's quantity is still just quantity. Deck chairs on boat are still deck chairs on any other boat.b

Why would the Rangers do that? They are trying to win now so theyre going to keep theyre best players while aquiring Eichel. If he wants out they would have to do something and in this scenerio they get a starting goalie, a top 6 winger, a middle 6 center, and a top 4 RHD all under the age of 27 and proven commodoties as opposed to prospects and then a first rd pick....If the Sabres don't say yes to that I would be shocked. (Again if Eichel wants out!)

Personally I don't think this is a bad offer (I wouldn't do it),

but if you want to appease everyone (Sabres fans and Rangers fans alike) simply replace Deangelo with Trouba and replace Georgiev + Buch with Kakko. Sabres fans get their Kakko package.

Go check out some from Avs fans particularly @Richard88 , if you think nobody is making realistic offers.

That was the one with Rantanen, Bryam and some other pieces right? It was the closest but still not fair. Wingers and prospects that might be really good aren't getting a 23 or 24 year elite Franchise centre. That is legitimately the hardest thing in hockey to find. Wingers are easier to find, prospects may or may not pan out, same as picks. Eichel is the real deal and I'd value him as a top 5 player in the league.

What is it about those offers that aren't fair? Do you really think you're going to get more than a young top 5 RW with term and a bluechip prospect as the base of a deal?

Eichel is arguably a top 5 C, but top 5 player overall? No.

In value, he's young and with term. I am sure some clowns on here are going to go ballistic about this statement but Eichel is worth more than Crosby or Malkin due to his age and contract and Franchise elite centres are the most expensive and sought after piece in hockey. I don't think Rantanen is a top 5 RW, and even if he is, he's a winger. I am a Leafs fan and I love Marner, but he's not worth Eichel, not even close.

So if you have a Franchise Elite Centre, and you are moving him, you are going to want a franchise centre in return of similar or younger age. Rantanen isn't that, so its not enough. Just like Marner, Liljegren and Robertson and 1st won't be enough. Sure its a huge package but the team would be trying to find a franchise centre for a super long time while trying to be good. Look at Montreal, they have had good teams but never good enough because they have always needed a top end centre which they couldn't find.

I think Buffalo would look to Florida, or Vancouver or a few other teams as trading partners and try to get another Franchise centre. Maybe look at Detroit or whoever gets Laff and get him. Maybe Hughes + in New Jersey.

That’s the problem, if you are trading Eichel you want prospects (like in Richards post elite prospects), and draft picks. You aren’t getting back a #1 C, unless you get 2 GM’s that just want to swap one for one. You’re right a 1C is the hardest thing to find and it does take a lot, but if someone offers up a legit elite wing, elite C prospect, and multiple 1st rd picks it’s not only fair but you aren’t going to get a better offer because at a certain point quantity ends up outweighing quality.

But is he an elite C prospect or just a highly touted C prospect? Can Rantanen do what he does away from McKinnon? Why not trade for a lesser Franchise C like Barkov? I think there are better options.

Rantanen can score away from MacKinnon of that I have no doubt. Newhook is an elite C prospect he’s a top 10 rated prospect in the NHL not just with the Avs. He was the National frosh of the year not Turcotte, not Zegras, not Caulfield. And as for Barkov he isn’t lesser than Eichel he is on par and taking into account his contract possibly more attractive in a trade.

Barkov will need a big contract sooner than Eichel and his next deal is going to be big.
