an actual draft pick of maple leafs that has made the nhl, is on a decent contract and can play up and down the line up and not be out of place.

cant have team with 4 forwards with 6+ million dollar contracts, then the rest with sub 1 million dollar contracts - a team built like that is not a good team and it wont matter if Matthews scores 50. He cannot play 60 mins a game.

we leafs fans always want to get rid of our developed players once they make it to the nhl. I don't get it.

now if we package him + other assets for an elite defenseman then I can see it ... but not for draft picks or no tangible return.
