If McDavid is going to Ottawa, then Chabot is definitely going back to Edmonton.

Very interesting idea. I'm not sure if Ottawa takes it tbh. I don't think any team with McDavid will be at the bottom of the league. They basically trade away all the assets they need to build around a star player like McDavid.

If McDavid (like eichel) were to demand a trade, this obviously is a heck of a return.

this is arguably more than the oilers got for gretzky.

you should just add lafrienere and drysdale to the line up

after making this trade ottawa still has a 1st, 4 2nds and 2 3rds in this draft and a bunch of cap space.

Yes, that's true, but though they have the greatest odds of any individual team, it is still more likely that they don't pick 1st.
