Both teams decline, Toronto's not giving up 3 relevant depth pieces for 1.5, and Buffalo isnt selling short on Mittelstadt or moving Jokiharju for mid line players

I'm feel like you're better off keeping Jokiharju and just trade picks to acquire one or both of Kapanen and Johnson. Florida is believed to be shedding cap this summer so that negates the Risto trade and I can't see McDonagh or Spurgeon having the Sabres on their trade list either. But if they did, it definitely improves the blue line, so I gotta give it to ya for creativity.

I think Toronto does this and I think Buffalo fans will hate it.

I wouldn’t move Jokiharju at all.

    Tradeable: McCabe, Ristolainen, Miller
    Resign: Montour.

They need long term 2nd pair LD from what I can see. I think the bottom pairing can be assembled in house with Pilut etc at a low cost. McDonagh isn’t waiving for Buffalo and his age doesn’t fit the timeline. Maybe a guy like Samuelson can grow into that 2nd pairing role with Montour. I think their games could complement each other.

    Dahlin/Jokiharju
    ? / Montour

We don't do this. Our pieces, aside from Bracco, are much more proven, and no need to regress in the present. The value is good, maybe take out the picks, but we don't do it.
