He doesn't have neg value LOLOL

You can literally flip him for a 2nd and 3rd to Montreal or Vancouver

Cant see Anaheim taking that for Rakell, they need more quality

Also would hate to give up on Makiniemi, I really like him

Kochetkov >>> and I don't think it's close. I'm really high on Makiniemi, but with Kochetkov and Lehner, there's no need for him

You dont trade elite players for expensive flips while you are a competing team. I said he has no value to Calgary, hes obviously not better than Gio and Hanifin is younger and a step up already. Valimaki is ready to play the 3rd pair so he has no spot in Calgary.

Skjei is better than Hanifin. Speaking analytically at least. That already gives him a spot in Calgary, or they can flip him for more futures. IT's really to Trelivings discretion.

What analytics exactly? Hanifin has a better Corsi ranking, better GAR (vs both CAR and NYR) and overall better RAPM. If you are comparing current Hanifin to 20yo Hanifin in Carolina they are almost completely different players.

dxG favours Skjei, and Skjei's dxGF is significantly better (according to Hockeyviz).

The fact you think that is scraps shows how little you know about them

worst Rakell trade I've seen on here.

I think if Gaudreau is available that Calgary will get better offers.

once again, a complete ignoring of the salary cap

Would you trade Aho for Andersson, Dube, Bennett, 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd?

Because that's basically what this is.

This is not even close. Gaudreau isn't a centre, and he only has 2 years on his deal. This is more like trading Teravainen for that package, and I'd 100% consider it. If rumours are true that Gaudreau could be shopped should Calgary fail to do anything in the play-ins, this would be about the appropriate package

Even if Gaudrea is shopped though Calgary wont completely tear it down, they cant afford to at this point. They would be looking for a high end prospect that can make a difference right away and a high pick for him. Not a bunch pieces that would be useful in a rebuild but wouldn't move the needle upwards for thier team.

Canes only ever carry 21 guys. It's never been a problem. If you need more than that, you move injured guys down, and call up whoever you need. IT works fine

Suzuki isn't exactly a million miles away from NHL ready. McGinn is a nice 3rd liner, and they can flip Skjei for futures, or roster players. They could easily flip him to someone like Winnipeg for Roslovic (not 1 for 1, but you get the idea) and it would make an immediate impact. The only reason Skjei is in the trade is so they could do something like that, but also, so Carolina have the cap to take on Gaudreau. The picks would help down the road, or again, they can flip the picks.

I don't think that Anaheim will trade one of its first-line players without getting immediate help at RD.
