Where does Taylor Hall sign

Created by: kdp23

Initial Creation Date: May 26, 2020

Description
I doubt it happens but not many teams have the cap room for hall. He is familiar with the area but I honestly think the relationship between him and the fan base was broken at the end. Consistent booing and it definitely effected him.

What idea do you guys have for where hall could end up? I don’t think Arizona has the room to sign him. Montreal could be a fit, but could he handle the pressure?

Doubt the sabres move Miller, theyd be selling him low, and he definitely has more to give

Not in New Jersey. I think he may take a one year discount on a good team, until the cap goes up then he will take his big contract.

Not in New Jersey that's for sure, Wonder if he would take a 1 year deal with Colorado. Then possibly go home to Calgary in 2021.

I've 3 guesses. Either he re-signs with ARI, or goes to Nashville or Columbus. All these teams are lacking a star level forward...Hall would likely be their best option.

I have been thinking a lot of UFA guys are going to have to ‘settle’ for 1 yr deals until the cap situation clarifies itself. I could see Hall doing exactly that for a cup contender, but if he has only a ‘good’ year how much money is he going to cost himself in the long term.

NAS is a good one I hadn’t thought of that.

I don’t think he could handle it. He was visibly effected by playing in a contract year this year so I don’t think he would do it again. Some players should and will, I don’t think he is one of them

Indeed.

Also there's a familiar coach in Hynes in there, since he coached Devils just last year.

That is a great point as well. Based on nothing but my own opinion I think the appeal of lower pressure markets with good teams is very appealing to him.

Nashville seems like a solid spot for hall. Someone mentioned Colorado, I have a feeling STL doesn’t have the space or won’t move the players in order to keep Petrangielo. I see Colorado as a great fit for him.

The local guys that cover the Avs have said big name guys like Hall and Pietrangelo aren’t on the radar, which I tend to agree with unless they are willing to take shorter deals. Remember they offered Panarin a boat load but wouldn’t give the term that the Rangers would. Sakic has been very patient and it has served him well, with guys like Byram, Newhook and Kaut set time join the team I think he ends up eschewing a big ticket guy like Hall that could cause problems with the cap sooner than necessary.

But do the owners want to spend almost 4M cap on a guy playing as a #6 based on TOI.

Like Miller and Risto moved and bringing in two sub 2M guys for 3rd pairing

Dahlin-Montour
McCabe-Joki
~2M UFA-Borgen

Saves the team 6.5M

Hell be playing with Dahlin so toi will go up. Risto would go first then Montour before Miller especially if money was their worry
