I don't think it is even close. Max Domi the year before had 72 points in 82 games. Vancouver is giving them a bad contract and one average prospect and not a good goalie prospect.
reelkena, math731 and Kotkaniemi15 liked this.

There's nothing for Mtl here. I am a Van fan, I don't want Domi. I think he is a problem person/ But this is still crazy bad for Mtl. This is another "what we want for what we want to give up" type deal only from a Van side.

Sutter maybe be a bad contract but he only has one year and he is a natural Center which address a need for Mtl as for Theissen while he is not a top tier goalie he could be a very solid Backup for Primeau who is clearly the next #1 goalie in Mtl. Basically from a Mtl stand point this trade would be about allowing players who need a year to develop to have that time but also stay competitive

I’m a Canucks fan to have been my whole life but I see this trade a a viable option for a winger for Horvat if the Canucks are unable to resign Toffoli. Domi and Horvat played with each other in London

And yet as I said, "what you want for what you want to give" No thoughts from Mtl side.

As much as you want to pretend you are giving things Mtl wants, you're giving throw away pieces for a player with value.
