That's actually incorrect. Shocking coming from a guy that doesn't watch the Kings.

I do actually. Just because he has the reputation as "one of the best in the league" does not mean he actually is.

Ehlers and Wheeler should both be on this list. Laine also is a RW.

That isn't a legit source... that is literally an article written by a nobody that has no idea what he is talking about... Again, NHL experts dude, do your research, from credible sources kid.

Guys ranked to low(though not a lot): Rantanen, Gallagher, Barkov
Guys ranked to high: DuClair, Pavelski, Tatar, Pacioretty, Bobrovsky, Murray

I thought it was pretty obvious that he's the top LW right now, Ovechkin not far behind

I'd have Marchand over Ovechkin

You just be high because I dont see Doughty anywhere on that list and he is still top 10

He isn't top10, currently. He is bad now. Maybe next season he'll be better or when LA is good again, but for now, he isn't.

At least half " NHL experts " use stats like +/-, hits/takeways to make their pick for the Selke.
At least half " NHL experts " only use stats like pts and +/- when they make their pick for the Norris
At least half " NHL experts " use stats like Wins, GAA (and SV%) to evaluate G/make their pick for Vezina.

Sometimes, they're right but sometimes, it's a disaster. Just like saying Doughty is a top10 D now.

Whoever made this will get Slapped By me,

Why is Dahlin that low? And Srs, Marner Over Stone! Bruh bruh bruh

Dahlin is one of the most sheltered 3rd pairing defensemen in the league. He's amazing offensively and he's going to be a stud, but he isn't ready to play against the big boys yet.

As such, an argument could be made that he shouldn't be on this list at all.

You're missing one of the top LW in the game today: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

I know your a LAK fan and you probably like/liked/love Doughty but try to use an objective view, as much as you can.
If you just want to believe Doughty is still good/elite and don't want to try to understand my point, I will tell you now, just stop reading and move on.

If it's not the case, you can just read those articles. It's well explained and very detailed.

Maybe he'll be good next season, maybe in 2-3 years, maybe never again but currently, he is bad. Good thing is that you got several young promising D and the best prospect pool. It will just hurt the salary cap... one day.

That guy doesn't even know what he is talking about and analytics don't take being on a rebuilding team into consideration...
Imagine what Bergeron would look like if the Bruins were in a rebuild right now...

At least, it's not Carlson.

Josi as well. McAvoy is in the top5, no bias. Just people loving pts that don't know that. wink

" That guy doesn't even know what he is talking about "
How doesn't he know what he's talking about? He is providing facts with justification. There is nothing false.

" and analytics don't take being on a rebuilding team into consideration... "
Ok, so because the team is rebuilding, it's okay that x player suck? It's the NHL, come on.

" Imagine what Bergeron would look like if the Bruins were in a rebuild right now... "
Easy to say and I could say he would still be good. But we're not rebuilding, unfortunately for you.
How is Kopitar still good then?

At least, it's not Carlson.

Josi as well. McAvoy is in the top5, no bias. Just people loving pts that don't know that. wink

Top 5 lmao. I knew you'd say something stupid like that. Boston fans are incapable of evaluation their players without Bias. McAvoy has yet to reach over 35 points nobody with 35 points is ever considered to be even close to a top 3 Norris vote and I bet top 5 either.

I'll give you this though, the true meaning of a Norris winner has been watered down for years. It's all about points which is why Carlson will probably win it even though Josi is the better defender. If they took more defense performance into winning a Norris, Doughty would probably have 5. The overrated all offense no defense Karlsson would have 0.

Bergeron at his age on a rebuilding team would not be good, but you're right, luckily for you it's not happening. You're a Boston fan so you think all of your players are the league's best... Bias. I cant wait until 5 years when the Bruins a rebuilder and Kings are contenders with Kopitar and Doughty and have this conversation again. You'll be like I know McAvoy is only 27, but he's on a rebuilding team that's why he's a -20 with 30 points...

There are variables to stats, that's what you dumb analytics people can't figure out. You'll learn someday I'm sure. Maybe in 5 years when Boston is the worst team in the league...

Agreed with the second part. Carlson will probably win it anyways because they only care about pts.

The problem is that you contradict yourself. " If they took more defense performance into winning a Norris, Doughty would probably have 5. " Idk if he would have 5 and Karlsson 0 but you first said " McAvoy has yet to reach over 35 points ". You just said how the Norris should actually be awarded and before that, you tell me abouts the pts.

McAvoy was one of the best defenseman defensively this season (all-around as well). Production-wise, he was on pace for 39/82GP. That's the only thing he can improve, primary points and shooting. Otherwise, very good offensively and dominant defensively. But he won't be in the conversation because most " experts " as you call them, just look at pts and not actual defense.

And no, there's no bias, Rask is 2nd in my Vezina ballot while a lot of people rank him 1st.
