Why does BUF say no? They get top line center playing 2nd line behind Eichel and young LD with upside for an A prospect and a couple 2nd round picks. Hall and Pietrangelo contracts can be bumped up 1 mil each if required, although Hall's contract could look ugly after a few years.

Columbus does not want Bennett... we’d rather keep Anderson. The only realistic way to get him is to overpay for him or offersheet him.

They don’t have the depth on the farm to trade Cozens and two 2’s for Monahan. This team isn’t close to winning.

Don't listen to that dude. Buffalo probably says yes, though we'd rather have a forward prospect than kylington

Pass from NJ - too many promising future assets to give up for a small piece to our massive problem puzzle. We'll take a run at JG if he makes it to free agency in a few years.

Basically, you are trading cozens for 3 years of a guy thats probably at cozens ceiling. The sabres are pretty thin on left side d at the moment, although they did draft 15 defensemen in the last 3 years. I think the sabres would look hard at this. How does monahan at 6 affect the cap crunch when dahlin is due, and how does this affect expansion? Sabres are likely a better team the minute this goes through- skinner probably scores 30 with a center that could fog a mirror, and kylington pushes montour back to the right side or possibly off the team- either helps. Worst part is you are giving up on cozens because he simply hasnt had time to actually become the 2c that we desperately need (on an elc with years of team control to boot) and you are probably looking at 3 and out for monahan, but the sabres need to do something in a pretty big way, this could be it.
