He is stuck on the third pairing and may just need a change of scenery but that is why it is high risk high reward.

I don't think Ottawa makes either trade, definitely not both.

The Alzner was a place holder as per the team discription.

Why do people insist on trading Chiarot?? For the most part the guy was a beast last year and he can really eat up some minutes and allow us to let some of our prospects develop.

Personally I would rather move one of Petry or Weber but a lot of fans crucify you for suggesting such a thing. I liked the Chiarot signing from the beginning. He is big, strong and skates pretty well for a guy his size.

Considering Alzner has 2 years and 4.625M it’s going to cost a first to move him. If you try maybe in a year when there’s only one year left you might have a taker at a second round pick.

Why? By moving on from Tatar, Weal, Petry and Kulak you save about 18 Mil to resign the RFA's and bring in the next group of RFA's besides that you can also move some of the fringe players other than what was mentioned or 1 or 2 of the current RFA's when their value increases simple fixes

Tatar and Petry are on quite good deals for players of their calibre. You take on Gostisbehere's horrible deal, so you loose 4,5mil for a guy who may be worst than MEte if he doesn't find his game back. We will be very close to the cap in a few years with all the young talents growing up and asking a lot of money, plus we will still have Weber and Price's contracts, so I think we can't afford to take Hall. It would work for a few yeras, but in 4-5, he will be past his prime, and you will be obliged to trade young people to pay him. In addition, the cap won't increase for probably 3 years (according to the rumours...)

I disagree with your assessment for 2 reasons Weber likely retires before his contract expires and the cap hit goes back to Nashville and if we have not won a cup in 3 years Price will either retire or demand a trade

But if Price asks for a trade, unless Seattle saves us, we will have to retain a few millions.
