I mean I probably still wouldn't as I put as much stock into what you can do to defend as you can to produce offensively. If you look at his advanced numbers over the last 3 years he's similar to Torey Krug and I wouldn't consider Krug a top 5 d-man in the NHL.

You and I both know Rielly has way more heart than this player and was in running for captain of team. Krug is a good player with a small man syndrome and just happens to be playing on a great team. Put in on Buffalo and you would say nothing special.

You are out to lunch is you think Theodore, Josi and Slavin are better defenceman than Rielly.

Maybe to your mind. I doubt even @MitchMarnerElite would agree with you.

You can not be serious. Rielly put up 72 points in 82 games in 2018-2019 season when not injured. None of these players have done that and who cares about this other guys team.

You do: you said "You would not know a good NHL defenceman even if he was playing on your home team" and that's what my comment was in response to.

No, I don't know that nor would I agree. Seems like a very odd thing to bring up actually and you come off like your grasping for thing to boast about with Rielly. I don't particularly care if he was in the running for Captain because real leaders don't need a letter on their sweater to be a leader. You overvalue Leafs player and the organization as a whole. You cherry pick numbers to try and form and argument and dismiss numbers when they don't fit your opinion. This is a perfect example of that. The number say Krug and Rielly are similar players over the last 3 years and your argument is "heart" and saying Krug has small man syndrome who just happens to play on a great team. By the way you talk about the Leafs, does Rielly not play for a great team?

Its one thing to be biased towards your favorite team, its another to be a massive homer.

I mean Johnsson was playing top 6 on Matthews wing so don't know where you got bottom 6 from. At worst hes a third liner but would easily be in the Kings top 6

Just because he played IN the top six doesn't mean he IS top six. Teams play lesser players with 2 better players all of the time.
