Risto would be a nice stop gap 4/5 dman for the Preds for one season. His cap hit and term make his contract less than ideal for them. The only way I see NSH taking him on would be if they were saving cap by trading BUF one of their pricier centers. The value isn't close for Nashville. Afanasyev is a non-starter for Risto.

I would swap Skinner and Olafsson with Eichel. For whatever reason, Kreuger has buried Skinner. I think it will continue because Kreuger wants to play a defensively responsible system and Skinner needs to improve on that end.

I dont think Cozens is anywhere ready for Line 2. They way this roster is set, Olofsson and Reinhart with Cozens is definitely the 2nd line.

That’s why they are sheltered behind the 2nd line. Cozens would be thrive in a 3rd line role playing against other teams bottom 6 lines.

With this roster, and olofsson and Reinhart as his line mates, he wouldn't be sheltered. That would be line 2. Fast, bonino and mojo wouldn't get more minutes than those 3.

They would take on a more defensively responsible line. The way Krueger plays his lineup lines 2-4 all play the same minutes.

He’s super underrated

Traditionally, sure
But for us, the Larsson line plays in a lot of tough defensive situations
So lines 2-4 play roughly the same time
In this case,
we could lessen “line4” icetime bc the Bonino “line2” could handle at least some of that

The Cozens line would still get a bunch of icetime, yes
But they’d be playing heavily in favorable offensive situations

It’s actually an ideal way to do things in my opinion if we can’t get a true 2C

Don't know a coach manages that. Half the games are on the road. Match ups? Just can't even by done easily even at home. It was Babcock's folly (among other things), trying to win line matchups. The players were spending more time racing to the bench, for changes instead of playing the game.

NSH doesn't need Risto.
