Detroit passes. Yes they need a stop gap LD but I think they would prefer one that has played an NHL game this decade. It's been 15 months since he has seen NHL ice.

I agree. I would prefer the LAK deal. The cap hit is quite a bit more, but Detroit can handle that for the next two years. Leddy is extremely durable and they both would be flipped before their contracts expire, netting quite a bit more then a 6th rounder.

I’ve wanted a Honka for Ho Sang swap for a while now. Segs and Ho Sang have done bio steel camp together. Ho Sang def has talent and I really feel like he could mature and be a solid player in Dallas. Plus a Guri-Segs-Ho Sang top line sounds like a lot of fun

If that’s what it takes to get Barzal long term, then I’m down with everything here

With the flat cap now teams are going to have to pay up big time to dump contracts. A 3rd rd pick just ain't gonna do it especially with Hickey having 2 years left.

Whenever I feel like playing GM, I always include a Honka-Ho Sang swap. I did not know that he praticed with Seguin. Now, in order to build a line that would be fun to watch, we need to get rid of Bowness first. smile

it won't cost more than that regardless of the cap. he's only getting $2.5M and is serviceable. Isles just have too much defensive depth.

I’m 100% okay with Bowness as a defensive assistant. He does a lot of good things and is very good at getting guys to play a simple and effective game in their own end. I still want Gronborg for the head coaching spot

I don’t think they ever trained together or anything like that. I know for a fact that they did at least one bio steel camp together. I remember seeing a Ho Sang interview and he was talking about how much he enjoyed skating with Seggy and you could tell there was a lot of respect there. He’s been labeled an attitude problem in NY much like Segs was in Boston. I’d love to see him come here and become a proper pro like Segs did. The kid is oozing offensive talent

Put Bowness anywhere as long as he is 100 miles away from the offense smile

Agreed. Even he will tell you he’s a better defensive assistant than a head coach
