If the Leafs are trading Marner for simply cap space + picks I"d rather do it out of division.

Yup. I'd only deal marner in division for futures if it's 3rd + 5th overall for him.

I hope you know Ottawa would never do that.

That's the point. In division trades cost more.

Ottawa shouldn't do this. Could add the 1C they desperately need, and another elite forward on top of it. As talented as Marner is, he's just one player. For a rebuilding team, potentially adding Byfield and a Raymond/Perfetti is way better value in my opinion. Even if it's Stutzle and Perfetti.

You realize it’s the 3rd Pick and the most likely 18th pick not the 3 and 5 pick lmao

Yeah I meant to reply to the person mentioning 3+ 5 lol.

Even still, I don't think it's smart for Ottawa to pass on getting Stutzle or Byfield 3rd overall. The Sens need a legitimate 1C if they're ever going to be legitimate contenders. There are wingers available who can give the Sens elite help, they don't desperately need Marner.

Why are people suddenly so high on Perfetti? Hes not better than Rossi, Raymond, or Drysdale. Hes a LW that desperately needs to improve his skating. Will he be top 10? Yes, will he be top 5? If a team picks him there I'm certain they will regret it

The skillset he has is absolutely elite. His speed is average, but that's something that can be improved. It's certainly not so bad that it should keep anyone from taking him. And his puck skills and hockey sense more than help him make up for the lacking foot speed.

I would rather Raymond, but Perfetti is a fine option at 5th overall. I didn't include Drysdale because I think Ottawa needs another forward 5th, and I think Rossi goes 4th to Detroit.

I can understand that, you know Perfetti is a wi ger though right?

Yeah. I think Ottawa lands their big fish C, whether that's Stutzle, or ideally Byfield, and then they add another elite forward. My best case scenario would be Byfield + Raymond.

I agree with that completely. A top line of Tkachuk - Byfield/Stutzle - Raymond would be very very good
