I'm a Hawks fan that thinks we need to be very careful. We're not in the worst spot, but FAR from the best.

Well, so do hockey writers who actually get paid to do this for a living, not just us fans 😂

No cap problems? When you need to buyout two 3M+ players and keep a player like Shaw on permanent LTIR kind of suggests its a bit of cap problem. Don't you think?

Cap problem does not means "You're screwed, you gonna have to trade Kane and Dach for 7th rounders to make it work.". Just means you are over the cap simply by resigning all the intended players you would normally. Meaning you'll need to do some trades to make it work. That's all.

Is it the end of the world? No. Is it just a simple problem that can be fixed with one phone call? No, probably not.

Tampa Bay has real "cap problems" in the sense people tend to use on here. They'll need some major reconstruction to make that work and it won't be easy.

Fans of other teams commonly say we won't be able to retain a guy like strome because we don't have the money. Just wanted to show we have the money to sign Crow and all our RFA's without even making a trade

Made this post to send the link to another guy on a different ACGM that said we don't have the money to resign strome and that we have no choice but to trade him

The Hawks do because if Shaw wasn't on LTIR they'd be over. Plus there are no lineup changes. Why have the same team when they went nowhere this year and got lucky and made the playoffs due to covid

Just by your roster, you have 1.5m in cap space, but if some of those 4.2m in bonuses get claimed, you could be carrying over cap into next year.

Well you will need to make some decisions for sure. As much as it seems like an easy one, buying two players out in the same offseason doesn't seem like a better solution. From a ownership standpoint at least.

So you are right, the Hawks could do the above technically but will they? I doubt it.
