Avs time is now with the flat cap

Description
I know everyone is picking on TB and I doubt there will be any OS that go through. But this offseason makes it unusual with the flat cap. And with the Avs being a contender, being a young team and having a top 3 prospect group. They could strike. Sneaky Joe Sakic you never know. Cirrelli would be awesome here. Kadri didnt impress at center that much this year. Looks like he would be better on the wing where he can just shoot or back in the 3rd line center role.

With just over 7 million in cap space Colorado could really go all in and offer Hall a 1 year contract of 7 million. Put him on the 2nd line and shift Kadri down to 3rd center role and Kaut could start in the AHL even though I think he is ready for the NHL. With a flat cap it will be interesting to see what UFAs do this offseason.

as for the trades. I dont know about those team needs or value. It was more to get them off the team to have room. So I dont need feedback saying that team doesnt want so and so.. IT was more to build my Avs team.

Detroit declines. Yzerman is looking to add draft picks or prospects. He won't give up picks for a player that will not be part of the Wings future down the road, although he may trade with someone needing cap relief. That way he gains the aforementioned assets with a vet taking a roster spot for the short term.

Habs pass, already have LD covered for next season. Chariot, Mete & Romanov (and kulak as 7th d).
Zad would be too costly as a 3rd pair D or a depth guy)

I agree, but if he was 2 or 3 years younger I think Detroit takes it.

I agree. Detroit won't give anything above a 3rd unless we're getting someone who will be a part of our future.

I think donskoi is more of a placeholder. Another team will pay that for him

Some of the trades here seem unnecessary. I wouldn't move Donskoi or Jost in this scenario.

Keep the Kadri, Donskoi, and Burakovsky line together and put Jost and Nichushkin with Cirelli. Take out Nieto and make Kaut the first call up. No need to deplete depth unless it's to make the cap work, and that's not an issue here (at least not until the following year).

I think you gotta wait and see what kadri bring in playoffs here. He was fine as 2nd line center this year, better than what we have had in previous years. He had a few injuries as well so once he can keep in the lineup i think he'll be a bit more consistent.

With that being said if he doesn't show up in playoffs i think this would be a solid 2nd line center pick up and kadri would move to 3c for his final year. Kaut would be on the RW.
