Teams like SJ will give you a pick for Simon IMO he's a good, cheap bottom sixer

I figured that him and Poulin could split the season and give the roster more flexibility, since Laff is an ok 13th player but if two forwards are down they're in tough shape. What do you think?

Anisimov, 2nd for Bjugstad, Murray, Johnson
Demers for Rodrigues, 3rd

Bjugstad > Anisimov, plus Anisimov is $450,000 more

Johnson = Demers, plus Demers is $700,000 more (2 less years)

It wouldn't cost Murray to move Johnson. While you pay through the teeth to move Johnson, you also pay to bring in a direct replacement?

Pittsburgh passes on both trades.

Bjugstad > Anisimov,
disagree, Bjugstad has not been able to find any offense in Pittsburgh and has been injured a lot, Anisimov has better offense. Both are good defensively, additionally there`s a 2nd coming to Pens

Johnson = Demers, plus Demers is $700,000 more (2 less years)
HARD disagree, Demers' relative corsi is zero over the last few seasons, Johnson is -5.5% relative over the last few years. Demers is way better on the breakout

That's just not right. After being traded to Pittsburgh he was 9-5-14 in 32 games. That's a 23g, 36 point rate. He then got hurt before the season, they tried playing through it because surgery would have been major, it failed, and he had the surgery. Anisimov isn't exactly a healthy guy either.
Last 2 years (not including this year due to season ending surgery):
Anisimov 31pts, 37pts (0.453 ppg) (0.442 including this year)
Bjugstad 26pts, 49pts (0.514 ppg) (0.484 including this 2 points in 13 games year)

Advanced stats and $2.50 gets you a cup of normal coffee at Starbucks. We all know that Johnson is the poster child of bad advanced stats. That doesn't mean that Demers is "better" nor does it mean that you pay to get rid of Johnson and then pay to bring in Demers.

You`re cherry picking a flash in the pan career year for Bjustad where he got 49 pts and only had 14 the year before that and excluding Anisimov`s 2 better years with CHI before that. 2017-2019 is the only window in time where Bjugstad had a better PPG than Anisimov

Pay to get rid of Johnson, yes you need to, you could argue that we should pay less for Demers but he does have value and can be a positive influence on a team, great to pair with a more offensive Rikkola or POJ

he had 9 goals in 32 games before he decided to be hurt all year. How can you say he has not found any offense.

I don't take either of these trades if I'm the penguins.
Bjugstad isn't a cap dump. There is a shortage of centers in the league. Someone will pick him up on the cheap and hope for the best.

No, I was putting emphasis on recent performance, which is what matters. What happened 10 years ago is completely irrelevant to next year. But career:
Anisimov 0.488 ppg
Bjugstad 0.472 ppg
A whole 0.016 difference. Look ma, no cherry picking even though there wasn't any to begin with...
$450,000 more, 5 years older, doesn't know how to spell "physical"...
Yeah, Bjugstad > Anisimov

The other point wasn't that you paid to move Johnson. It was that you paid A LOT (Murray) to move Johnson AND then paid to bring in a nearly equivalent (is that better?) Demers.

This is just a bad AGM all around.

Yeah that's fair a lot closer on the career than I though.
My initial intention was Anisimov > Bjugstad which i guess is debatable, but what do you think Murray should fetch?
I figured it was a first that's why I though Murray to get rid of Johnson, acquire a 2nd and an upgrade on Bjugstad (which might not be the case) that's the value I originally invisioned

As for the the Demers trade, what do you think of trading Rodriguez for a 3rd pair RHD? Anyone else you'd suggest that would pair well with POJ and Rikkola and give Marino a safety?
