Navigating the flat cap with Shaw back

Description
Didn't speculate on draft picks or free agent signings to keep it realistic, however I had to sign a goalie because I'm unsure Crow is gonna be back next year. He just had a kid and with his concussion history he could be thinking about hanging them up before his head is too far gone. Signed Khudobin because he had really good numbers behind a really good defence last year, he can come here and get a 1.5 mil raise over what he made in dallas and has a chance to be a starter. Takes a 1 year deal to try and prove himself as a starter and sign somewhere as a starter next offseason. I trust him more than talbot or any of the other options out there at this point. Also gives us a season t evaluate Delia and Lankinen in the NHL and see what we have in them. Didn't buy out smith because I would really like to try and eat the last year if we can. Maybe his back injury is bad and he ends up on LTIR, worse case scenario if he can't contribute in the NHL anymore we can bury him in Rockford and he can help the kids develop which gives us another 1 mil in cap space

If you're talking about the TDL...i think you can get a lot more for Murphy. I personally wouldn't sign Drake for that much, but a lot of other Hawks fans are. Id also prefer to have Crow over Khuby.

How are you under the cap before the Murphy trade? I don't see a way that works.

Also way too much for Khudobin, he is a good backup, not a starter.

This looks solid, quiet offseason might do us some good for once.

Maatta vs. De Haan is still a relevant argument for me that I think could go either way. I know you acknowledge it could be either that gets moved, but I'm really not so sure it has to be or should be Maatta tbh. He's younger, (slightly) cheaper, was better defensively last season and seemingly a bit more durable. On the flipside, all of these things make him more valuable in a trade. De Haan at points was playing out of position and role on the top pair with Keith or partnered with Seabrook (self-explanatory), so maybe that explains some of his decline in play. The injuries, coupled with his age concerns me more than that. I guess what I'm trying to say is is that if somehow makes more sense to move De Haan (which I'm kinda arguing that it does), I'd do that.

Really minor thing, just a concern I've had that I wanted to mention.

I would rather have crow too but who knows what's going on with his health
