Detroit passes. It is going to take more than Virtanen minus 2021 3rd round pick (VGK) to move Ericsson.

A late 3rd in 2021 isn’t a big ask. Eriksson isn’t useless like Lucic or Ladd for example. Virtanen fits into the age group & his speed & shot is a nice fit. Add a B prospect & the Wings would be ok.

A lot of Canucks fans have Virtanen being traded, so I guess he is expendable, and he’s the type of young, quick guy that can put up points that Detroit wants. I think this is close to what it’ll take to get Loui out of Van

He's useless to Detroit. He is just a cap dump. Red Wings don't need another high paid veteran. So for that you are going to have to pay.

His AAV is 6m & real money is 5m left for 2 years. Wings can handle the cap hit comes down to it if value for the $ is helpful. What that means for a trade can be many things or options. This offer is just that & can be tweaked.
