Pavelski has negative value, at the very best no value so that's definitely enough

He has value. He is still a good player. Just a bad fit. They seem dedicated to making him productive in Dallas but if the points don’t come in the playoffs and he okays a move I’d be all over this offer. I think he represents what’s wrong with the Stars offensively so as much as I’d love that seven million gone, I’m hoping it makes them explore a better offensive system

At his age, contract,AAV and production this past season he has little to no value - he's certainly not a cap dump but he won't bring anything note worthy

Absolutely. Talking trade value he doesn’t really have any and maybe even a little negative like you said. But he still has value as a player imho. Which is what I meant above. If he doesn’t work out in the playoffs and they decide to explore moving him I’d send him and Honka for Suomela or Gambrell straight up especially with no salary retention

San Jose doesn't want Pavelski back in the slightest, but even if we did, that would be a preposterous overpay

I’m sure any Pavs move would have some retention. Was just saying lol. Did your original post have retention? 🤔🤔

I wouldn't go that far to say that we don't want him. I might've overpaid but that's mainly because I don't really know how much Dallas values him

That's understandable. Considering the circumstances, it really wouldn't make sense to bring back Pavelski since he's massively overpaid, aging, and probably overvalued by Dallas. Just my opinion though. Wish he had never left :'(

I would do that trade and ask you to accept 600K$ less retention and keep you 5th. With that 5M$, we would have the budget to sign Gurianov and Hintz and chase some younger legs...I hope.

He has value for us, because we know how to use him, but... Burns may only be here 1 more year, for the tips, plus his contract & age, I don't think it's possible.
