Honestly if Strome was willing to sign 4x4 contract CHI should absolutely keep him.

I thought about this for awhile, if we win the lottery we should trade him, if we don't we'll keep him

Strome>Athanasiou. Brodin seemed like a good idea for a couple months, but honestly a $6M contract doesn't seem like the best idea for this team anymore. That money would be better spent on goaltending.

In hindsight, when considering that Bowman let Lehner go for pretty low price, I don't think they're planning on making a big goalie acquisition for now.

Maybe Bowman is about to pull an antoine vermette, trade at the deadline and then return in off-season

Any good one is going to cost at least 6 million. You're not getting a stanley cup winner at 4, I don't care how bad he played.

I think 4 million for 1 year is a good deal, Holtby can get paid more if he shows improvement and Ik i have it 4x2 (that's my mistake)

I don't think he'll take a discount though. I think everyone knows he's very capable of a rebound year, including himself.

My guess is Brodin will cost anywhere between $5.5M-$6.2M which is actually good value for a top 3 defenseman.

That said, I like this deal. Although I'd prefer it if Koekkoek was resigned to that price point for at least 3-4 years minimum. We've got enough big contracts coming up the next couple of years that it would be more worth the Wild's while if his contract was just long enough to bring him to a point where we'd have more open cap space. Plus flat cap considerations and all.

getting lag should not change our plans with Strome. we should be keeping him. The only way I would consider trading him if is we draft one of Lundell/Rossi/Perfetti. Even if we do get one of those guys, I would still hold Strome through this season and re evaltuate either at the TDL or over next off season. Most contenders and 3 centers deep. Toews-Dach-Strome is a very good center core.

yea but the hawks get a LD to replace Keith in a few years, which makes our d-core look pretty good. If the hawks were to get AA the center core still looks solid, and Dach will be an established #2 center

AA doesn't even really play center. CF lists guys as multiple positions sometimes and I don't get it. they list shaw as a center too and he pretty much only plays RW
