Ok, here it is. Because of the hilarious range of factors going into every single contract presented here, the leafs did in fact spend better because their deals where signed under different, much higher caps qnd include players that actually put up high contract earning numbers before the contracts where signed, and they are forced to include a big name UFA player for some reason while the oilers get a bunch of RFA guys who signed after middling seasons that were all deemed at best meh contracts
