I'm not a Sharks fan, but hopefully one with reasonable knowledge will see your comment and answer more realistically than I can.

However, with this post, I would imagine picks and prospects. Maybe Dahlen and a 1st or Merkely and a 1st. Might have to get a 3ed team involved so they aren't direct trade partners.

Meier is good return for Bura but I feel he’s overpaid for one breakout year. I think COL gets similar production from Bura without the 6mil price tag

Did you really just trade Meier for Burakovsky and Kane for Pavelski 1 for 1...

Sorry if I come off as a bit of an arse, but apart from the Anaheim and Vancouver trades, all of these trades are horrible for us...Especially the Dallas and Colorado ones. I just think the value is wayyyyyyyy off.

Pavelski was the heart and soul of this team. Kane is an ego problem and isn't even that good.

Meier isn't even that good either IMO. Can't make a pass to save his life. Bura is so underrated and good in so many different ways. Also cheaper.

The way I see it, the Sharks kept the wrong guys and traded for the wrong guys.

They should have kept Pavelski, Hoffman, Dillon, DeMelo, Braun, Goodrow, and Nieto.

Doug Wilson has absolutely no concept of General Managing.

Detroit doesn't need a 30 year old with 6 years left when they are in the middle/a couple years left on the rebuild. Beyond that, it's a positional mismatch as their RHD include Filip Hronek (2016 R2#53 currently playing on their top pair) age 22, Moritz Seider (2019 R1#6) age 19, and Gustav Lindstrom (2017 R2#38 currently on their 3rd pair) age 21...if they are going to spend that much capital the Wings wouldn't want to add to a position of strength.

I figure because he's still a good and he's a player they can build around at a very cheap price, it might be worth it.

He's a great player. Just doesn't fit Detroit's rebuild timeline. He'll be on the decline before they are good enough/experienced enough to make long playoff runs (say in 4-6 years).

I couldn’t disagree more about Kane and Meier but to each their own. Burakovsky will be cheaper than Meier and is underrated but is STILL not nearly as valuable. Meier had a down year. He’s not a fantastic passer, but he’s not horrible, and his ceiling is easily higher than Burakovsky’s. He drives play much better too. And Kane isn’t the same guy he was in Winnipeg and Buffalo. He’s matured and sure, he’s A bit overpaid, but at this stage in time, I’d take him over Pavelski 6000 times over. Pavelski chose to leave. I don’t want him back. We need to move on.

They couldn’t have kept Hoffman because they later acquired Karlsson, (which is why DeMelo left). Dillon would have been great to keep but we do already have 3 LHD in Vlasic, Simek and Ferraro. I love the man but we were sellers at the deadline. Braun played like sh1t in 2018-19 and needed a change of scenery. Goodrow is fine, but also got us a 1st back which we needed after this disaster of a year. Nieto was claimed by COL off waivers. We didn’t get rid of him. It makes sense why we traded every single one of them. And that’s coming from someone who’s generally openly critical of Wilson.
