I don't think Mark Staal would be that easy to get rid of. They had to buyout both Shattenkirk and Girardi, he has to follow the same fate if you want him out

shatty and girardi both had multiple years left on their deals, staal has one at 5.7 and could help shelter some young kings d for a year

DeAngelo isn’t a great defender, but you’re willing to give him AND Sergachev 5 years blocking Miller? Sorry but if I’m JG, I am NOT trading away Fox next year because of the cap. You keep your future 1 RHD easily over a good offensive dman who is okay at best defensively.

i think foreskin is right- lightning match - they do have some cap issues in TB, but u rarely see teams attacking the restricted's (and succeed) and doesnt seem like davidson/gorton are in any rush to be that aggressive. thats a move u do when it puts u over the top. NYR still 2 years away minimum.

agree staal has more value then people are giving credit for. that said we may have to eat some which is fine. worst case u buy em out if miller looks to make team, or u find stay at home value in FA

Rob Blake has announced that he's looking for a short-term veteran to pair with Drew Doughty. This is an option we would probably take.

OTT doesnt *need* georgiev at all.
