Why not?
Goat is good in the faceoff circle and comes cheap and has a big frame. Engvall can take draws, has a long reach and speed and good on the pk. This would help their special teams I would think and not cost an arm and a leg.

And good luck signing Lehner for 4.5

Freddie is fine

First of all, Barby is the best player of the three by a fair margin and also the youngest. Most importantly, though, is the fact that this would be reducing cap space. Thta's not something we're doing, even a small amount, for guys who would be like our 14th and 16th forwards. We are not looking for depth, we barely have enough ice time to go around already. Yes, Goat is good on draws (Engvall is most definitely not, by the way) and both have size (though they really don't use it much), but both of these players have a game full of holes. Barby is more well-rounded by himself than both of these guys put together. And he plays the haaaard minutes. There's simply nothing in this trade for us.

I think that gets you about 8% of the way to pulock.

Perhaps if I swapped Ho-Sang for a 4th?
Personally I believe it is a little tipped in the islanders favor.
They acquire quality assets to fill their holes throughout the line up. Toronto gets a decent D man.

Nylander or pulock has to be included in the trade if we’re trading pulock

We gave up a 1st and a 2nd for Pageau. Pulock deserves at least that much. Even more since he's such an important player to the Islanders. Johnsson ain't worth squat despite the crap the Leafs media is feeding you.

In all seriousness I considered a Nyland for Pulock as the base, but didn't know who to offer then for Wilson with the Caps.
An honest trade I believe would be Nylander and Johnson and a 2nd or 3rd for Pulock and HoSang

Nylander maybe, but you need to remember Pulock is our number one defenseman, Which makes him invaluable to the Islanders it's not like we'd be trading away one of our bottom 6. The deal would have to be worth it for Islanders. Dobson will be good no doubt about it, but is he ready to step in and take Pulocks spot yet? I don't think so I think he needs a couple more full seasons in the NHL before that happens so losing Pulock wouldn't make any sense for the Islanders at this point in time.

Quite true. Perhaps adding Liljeren would help ease the burden of a RHD being moved.

Decent? Pulock is a top-pair RHD. Seriously? The Islanders are getting an overpaid middle-6F and defenseman who hasn't panned out yet.

Pulock-Pelech is a top-10 d-pair in the league. Hardest of passes here. I probably wouldn't even want to trade Pulock for Nylander straight up.

VAN decline, they are trying to shed cap space plus they already have enough forwards.
