The Wild say no. They have a surplus of botton 6 centres and lack top 6 centres already. So why should they trade away the one they have for another bottom 6 centre?

We went through the Kuznetsov stuff yesterday. While Kuz is a good player he is a little too old and expensive for the 2C role that the Jets need and to consider moving Ehlers for.

yes, but the Wild have actually a very solid top 4. Dumba is the weakest of the 4 and I don't think Siegenthaler is an upgrade over Dumba

lmfao what?!!? Eller is coming off a great years AND you get Seigs for 1 year of Staal. Fans on this site make me laugh sometimes.... Wild would take this and run as fast as possible.. Capitals turn this down quickly

this is as smart as the capitals turning down a trade like Vrana for Scheifele bc hes too old. expensive? hes a top 25 center making less than 8 million with term?

The term and dollars are the problem. Kuznetsov has had declining production for the last two years and is being paid $7.8 until he is 33. If Kuznetsov continues to drop in production, his contract will look terrible in a couple years. $7.8 is also a lot to pay with a flat cap to fill the 2C position that we need filled.

hes a pretty consistent 70 point player.... even in a down year / off yeah he still hada better ppg than Ehlers... Kuzy is clearly the better player. He also plays center. seems like a no brainer but again fan bases on this site always like to diminish the other teams player. Ehler looks to be pretty inconsistent himself.

The Wild don't need Siegenthaler. Only way they do is if they trade away Brodin/Dumba

I don't think I said he wasn't a better player now, my concern is that in his over 30 years his contract doesn't look like it will age well. But conveniently ignoring the main point that one player is just entering his prime on a value contract while the other is exiting his prime on a high dollar contact and takes up too much cap space for what we need, is on par with fans that only see things from their team's perspective and any concerns from the other team are inconsequential no matter how valid they are.

there is no proof that one player is entering or exiting... its all your opinion. Ehlers looks like a 60 point player and thats consistent and Kuzy looks like a 70 point players and thats consistent.... age hardly matters.

So, you're saying that no player ever drops in production due to age?

im saying its situational. Carlson just turn 30 and had a career year. was on pace for 89 points. Staal just score 47 points in 66 games. there are 100 example that prove my point and 100 that disprove it. Age only really matter if the trade would be Ovechkin for Matthews. if they were both 18 Washington would never make that trade. using their current ages TML would never do it. 3 years and no proof that age is effecting play just seems like a stretch

Well, we'll just have to agree to disagree. From what Jets management has said in interviews over the last few months they would not be interested in moving youth for older players. Now, of course, that is all relative as well, but I think the contact dollars and that it still leaves us with a top 6 hole, would be the things that make the Jets look elsewhere.

agree to is agree but thank you it was nice picking your brain and having a good conversation smile. i felt terrible that you guys caught the injury bug this year but at least you'll get a great draft pick that'll help you
