I don’t like that Florida trade. Engvall is a solid bottom 6 guy. Dermott can be a top 4 D man within a year.

I probably overpaid, but I'm not a big fan of Engvall.

I personally really like Engvall. he is a good penalty killer and a strong skater. he worked very well with Spezza and Clifford in the play in.
I’d also rather keep dermott over weegar

If they could get a first for Kapanen that trade would’ve already happened. Most late first are also teams in cap trouble like the Leafs.

They have been unloading FA's and did cut out Lou's bad contracts. Now they will be cutting some salary.

They just signed him last off-season. They weren’t necessarily looking to trade him for cap space. Not only that, they expected the cap to to up sooooo
