Pass, Peohling does nothing for us, the 2020 1st rounder is too high and frankly, the other picks don't move the needle that much

Although I don't agree with @KakkoForMauriceRichardAward , cause I think the NYR could benefit from developing Poehling, the trade is still way too weak for the NYR.
Not enough weight in what Montreal is offering. It would take a lot more. At the end of the day 1st ovr is not happening, unfourtunately.

Agreed. Lafrenière is a ranger and that’s that.

If one drew a venn diagram...one circle for trades NYR would accept, another for trades MTL would do...there is not going to be much overlap.

I think path from #16 to #1 would have to involve other team(s).

example....(totally hypothetical)
MTL sends #16 + prospect --> MIN for #9 and salary dump (pre-draft).
MTL sends #9 + prospect --> NJD for #7 (pre-draft).
MTL sends #7 + 2 2nd rounders + player --> Ottawa for #3 (pre-draft)
MTL sends #3 +2021 1st rounder + players + prospects --> NYR #1 (at draft)

Would love to see an entrepreneurial MTL fan try that route.

As much as I’d like the Habs to have Lafreniere the only way it was going to happen was for them to have won the lottery. Anything else puts even more pressure on the kid given that they’d have to give up an exorbitant amount of assets to acquire him.
