IMO with NY picking Lafreniere, it makes them lopsided on LW. I'd think their moves need to be focused around a stellar center and at least 1 decent RW to take pressure off Kakko.

The ducks aren’t trading 6. Nothing you gave up is a difference maker and ducks need difference makers.

I would say Yes for Anaheim under the following conditions: (1) neither Drysdale nor Raymond is available at #6, and (2) remove the window-dressing (Pajuniemi and Skinner) and replace them with Justin Richards.

They have buch and kravtsov and even gauthier who may play his way out of NY soon to help carry the RW load, kreider is gone in exactly 2 years when our cap blows up and we're not close to contention as we all saw vs CAR so a future star C would do more for us than a current one

Oh yes they would. We're not moving back from #6 to #20 or thereabouts for a third-round pick and two guys who will probably never see the top half of an NHL roster.

both are good specs but if richards gets it done sure I guess, and if raymond and drysdale are both gone that means we get rossi unless ottawa throws away all the draft boards and takes rossi, in which case you guys might just take drysdale

You underestimate the value of Pedigree (both genetic and educational). Of course, the horses I bet on don't ever turn out, either.

Dobber Prospects has him rated much more highly than Pajuniemi or Skinner and you gotta like a guy with a complete collegiate career at Minn-Duluth. The coaching such young players get is hard to see in evaluations but if he makes it to the NHL, I expect him to be the kind of two-way player my two crummy local teams like to have. I'm hoping he'll be the next Alex Iafallo.

Oh lol. I don't follow Collegiate hockey haha. Regardless you can still have him. He's not beating out Buchnevich, Kakko, Kravtsov, and Gauthier.

He's listed as a RW on CF. Still, If the deal is for Rossi? He's not beating Zibanejad, Rossi, Henriksson, Barron, etc.

And chytil, and even then, say 4 of them make up the C core and goat plays his way out I wouldnt mind him at 4RW if paju doesnt pan out

He's a right-handed shot who can play both C and RW. I like guys who can take draws when their C gets tossed out a WHOLE lot.

I'm starting to like Pajuniemi over Kravtsov but that could change fast. 26 goals in Liiga or VHL? idk. I hope he blows on the scene next year.

If we use krav and take back no cap I'd keep fast and him with wallmark would be straight clamps and goat and laf can get some chemistry going, and in 2 years fast leaves and paju gets 4RW

My question to that would be is Kravtsov better than whoever the ducks get at 6? If the answer is no, which I think it is, then no.

I have a little bit of a differing view than @OldNYIfan based on this thread. The ducks need difference makers. On paper they have a bunch of middling players. Guys like Rakell, Silfverberg, Henrique who are 2nd line players. And young players like Terry, Steel, Comtois etc who’s ceiling is probably 2 line. Lindholm defensively is a difference maker on the back end and Fowler was solid this year but idt he and Manson are difference makers on the back end. Overall on paper the ducks have some solid players but they need a 30 goal scorer or a high end Dman not more middle 6 guys. Unless somehow someway someone like Barzal, PLD or Elias Lindholm becomes available for #6 I think the ducks best bet is to keep it and hope whoever is at 6 becomes a difference maker.

Kravtsov definitely has 1st line potential, and even then ADA and the carolina 1st are no fillers
