Strome's value is more of a 4th rounder at best, no one is paying for stats inflated by Panarin.

So... in short, none of the trades make any sense.

The year Strome was traded to NYR, was on pace for 42 pts... Panarin came so his stats became on pace for 70ish in a shortened season. Many teams 2C are 40 point guys. Strome has trade value, don’t know what but definitely more then just a 4.

Not when arbiters are going to grant him a contract of 7-8m per year. No team is going to pay that for a 40pt 2C.. he is, at most, a 1year rental for a team thats on the fringe.

MTL doesn’t need RHD and want nothing to do with a guy like DeAngelo, but we’ll take this deal and flip ADA for a LHD of similar calibre. You guys would enjoy Mete fr, he would fit well on your blueline.

If you take a look at Strome’s isolated xGF/60 rates, you’ll see that they’re through the roof, and that’s not on Panarin. Strome has a very solid offensive impact, his point totals have been inflated by Panarin because he doesn’t have that finishing ability.

Even if he is traded and goes to an arbiter, he would get that contract elsewhere so that I guess lowers value. Both Strome and GMs know the wise move for both parties is a 3-4 year deal in $5M range, maybe $6M range
