I’m pretty sure Montreal has to add more for Mantha trade. Domi gets a 1 year deal to see how he performs.

I did this for fun and it’s prob not gonna happen but a man can dream

The thing with Mantha is he was on pace for over 70 points this year and I know his injuries blah blah but if he can stay healthy and have the same production his value skyrockets which is why the Red Wings will not trade him right now

I don't think the Blues will want to do this but the premise - Allen for a 5th and then moving up a round to eat the Steen contract - is reasonable IMO.

No, no, no, according to your fanbase on CF no ones a cap dump on your team and should get a proper return.

I know you're tongue in cheek but if you think anyone on this site serves as a spokesperson for an entire fanbase, that's your own fault tears of joy

Switching that STL first with NSH would be much closer in value for Mantha.

Yeah tongue in cheek but still it's annoying that many guys think that you'll be able to unload about 15M$ and receive picks because "they're worth it".
As you sir look to be more talkative than the others, what would be the price for Kyrou? I thought that with the emergence of Blais he could be used to cap dump someone else (Like Armia was in the Winnipeg deal) as he's burried behind many players (Tarasenko, Perron, Blais also Kostin or Thomas could come in as his replacement). I thought he could be used as a sweetener for someone to take a deal as on most of the ACGM Kyrou's either in your bottom six or as the 13th forward.
Montreal point of view, I feel he's being buried down your depth chart but could come in Montreal and take a middle six role (Most likely second line) with ease. I like his scoring potential and if he moves to a team who could give him more than 10:54 of TOI he could become even better. Am I crazy to think so?

I think if you look at what happened with Fabbri, it isn't crazy to think that Kyrou could be seen as the odd man out because of his play style. But most fans will tell you that trading him would be a huge mistake because he has loads of talent and brings speed and skill that could really help our lineup. If he got traded, it would be like you said, that mgmt chose Blais and Sanford (and ultimately kostin) over him. That would mean the return would be for futures, maybe a solid D prospect that we lack or a pick or two. I think he should stay and play a bigger role, potentially at RW with ROR and w Perron moving over to the LW.

With our cap-heavy contracts being only 1 yr remaining, I think it would be a mistake to use Kyrou to sweeten a deal, but it wouldn't be that absurd if Armstrong did it - he might not have many options, especially if he inks Pietrangelo. For the record, I thought it was a mistake by WPG to use Armia to get rid of Mason, but those type of deals do happen so you never know.

True that the Fabbri trade looks worst by the day but you're right, stuff like that happens sometimes. All comes down to internal evaluations of the players but I thank you for telling me I'm no crazy, although it's unlikely it isn't impossible that he's a sweetener. It's really a bad timing for you guy with your two great defenders (Pete and Dunn) to sign right now but you'll get about 15M$ of cap space next summer, tough luck I guess.
Yeah Armia was a big price to pay as he's an elite player in puck protection but I think it was mishandled by Winnipeg, they could've been over the cap during the summer (I think it's up to 10% over?) and if they were to sign Stastny they could find a trade partner afterward instead.
If I'm the GM I'd gladly take Allen off your hands (Or any other but he's the only one without an NMC) and Kyrou for something like a late third or fourth round pick. Allen numbers are good and although he's overpaid a little he's what Montreal needs, a good backup goaltender on a one year deal.
