I like the idea, the return for Marner is more in the ball park than most.

Its still a pretty soft team, forwards lack in the team defense, and two rookies on defense, maybe another move or two

Tempting, but I think the Wild would pass.

Agreed. Value is probably close to fair, but you guys need help down the middle...badly...

Nylander probably makes more sense, as he can be relied on to develop into a solid C if given the chance, but the return would obviously be less for Toronto.

Nylander is definitely the Leaf I prefer for exactly the reasons you mentioned, but trading him in a deal for Dumba doesnt help their cap issues - making a trade with them challenging.

We've tried the off. dman experiment with Rielly and it failed miserably.

Don't think trading Marner for another makes much sense.

Honestly flip the 1 for like a 2 and a 5th next year, this is the best player the Wild are going to be able to get without an offer sheet.

And as long as they keep their firsts they could maybe do a retoole? Depending on who they have drafted.

If Sutter ages like Weber they could actually reset their team with a 23 year old start and it extend ES and ZP careers as well

I would do this. Good things happening for both teams for different reasons.

Dumba is 10x the defender Barrie is!

Yeah, i also heard Barrie was better than Rielly by 90% of fans out there after the trade.

I for one think Nylander is equal to Marner and could be better. He's a far better goal scorer, still and incredible playmaker and just has more tools in the shed. Plus his contract is sick. I don't think the return is any less.
