Having two starters isn't a smart move. I also don't think paying a goalie tandem 14.5M is a smart move, especially because we already have the league's most expensive goalie and tandem.

I dont get all the negative feedback... Mantha's career high is 48 pts.

He was on pace for 72 pts this year, which is Domi's career high.

They are comparable players with totally different skill sets.

I would love to have Mantha in MTL, to the point that I would overpay to get him.

If you look at things objectively, Domi is comparable to Mantha production wise. So adding a 22 year old top 4 defenseman and a 2nd round pick is pretty solid.

Certainly worth discussing, not sure why all the Detroit fans are so quick to say no. I guess they don't have a lot of nice things right now so they want to hang on to anything they have, but what if Mantha wants out or refuses to sign long term? Then what? It's a realistic possibility.
