Yeah I have a feeling both Ristolainen and Montour will be back. Miller who probably was the best RD near the end of the season will probably be moved.

I did that trade as it was part of someone elses trade that @OldNYIfan might be interesting.
What's your say on Larsson?

Take into account there were multiple parts of that trade and JR gives up firsts like they were breath mints.

Still has second pairing upside, but the left side is crowded in ANA Lindholm, Fowler, Gulhe, Larsson, Mahura, Djoos, Curran could all be in the NHL, on top of prospects like Thurn and Lacombe. one if not both of Larsson, Guhle should be moved out imo

McCann is still worth more than a 2nd lol and Pens are clearly trying to win now. Trading him for futures makes no sense

According to all the articles I've read Pitt got fleeced for giving a first in the trade...none believe Kapanen was worth the first. I'm not trolling ya just giving you what I've read on the Athletic.

According to Lebrun
"The Leafs were trying to get their 13th overall pick back from the Hurricanes, a source said. And while Carolina has had an interest in Kapanen for a long time, no way the Canes were going to pay that price.

The Ducks certainly weren’t going to deal away the sixth overall pick and I think that’s what the Leafs would have asked for. So you can follow the logic here, the Devils have three first-round picks in this year’s draft (No. 7, No. 18 and No. 20) and while I think New Jersey might have dealt away one of those lower first-round picks straight up, the price became too rich for the Devils’ blood when you’re talking about also giving the Leafs a good prospect plus perhaps another asset.

I’m told the Leafs asked Chicago about their 17th overall pick as part of a Kapanen deal, the Blackhawks weren’t interested.

I’m not exactly sure what the Leafs talked to the Predators about in a Kapanen deal but presumably, it would have had to do with the 11th overall pick which Nashville owns.

The Wild also had talks with the Leafs but it didn’t get very far. They weren’t going to trade the ninth overall pick.

I’m also told that Edmonton (No. 14 overall pick) and Montreal (No. 16 overall pick) were aware of Kapanen’s availability. But again, I can’t see a scenario where they would have made that pick available in a Kapanen deal."

but again it only takes one buyer and Toronto found Pitt but that doesn't mean a team will give a first for McCann

So because Kap shouldn't have gotten 15OA McCann is therefore worth just a second? You can't even attempt to give reasoning for why that makes sense for Pittsburgh, a win now franchise with no replacement for him in the lineup? Kap did more for Pittsburgh than for those other teams, therefore they were willing to pay more, it's not the complicated. By that same logic, McCann does enough for teams that most would offer more than a single second round pick
