Lol comment sections are crazy. I came in here ready to yell at him for giving up a bonafide first line RW for a second pairing Dman

Rust with McDavid would be absolutely unreal. Dude potted 27 goals and 56 points in 55 games this year

we're all guilty of over valuing our own players.
Some are really out there.

I actually like Clifton haha, just a wild man out there and trust me, its hard to say anything nice about some Bruin players.

idk what you guys are on about. Simon is definitely a 3rd liner at best, but Rusty put up 56 in 55 and is on a great contract. EDM has a surplus of LD and there were rumors they might move out Klefbom anyways (even though I disagree on if they should)

That UFA status in 2 years kinda scares me, but I'd be down with that too

even if you think the value is there, the Oilers just arent going to do something like this(well they shouldnt, never know with these clowns anymore).

Rust is a fine player, but face it, he is a career 30 point guy that has had one really good year. now if he did this again next year, then I would say yea sure, that a great deal for the Oilers. but at this point, Klef is more important to them then a trade for Rust and a 3rd line checker(ton of those in the NHL to find)

but like i said, I never know what the Oilers are generally thinking anymore.

Going to assume you are moving rust because of his points last year and you doubt he will keep up the pace, which is more than double his average. I get it, sell high. But do other Gm’s have the same hesitations?

Honestly don't know what GMJR is doing at this point because pens have a surplus of top 9 wingers so that might be the reasoning? Honestly I'd rather keep Rust, very fast, very clutch

Normally I would say yeah, but we just traded a 1st and our 2nd best prospect for an actual 3rd liner so. I wouldn't say nothing's off the table lmao.

Rust's expected GF/60 was in the 89th percentile, which seems to me that he's getting more high quality chances than simply being lucky

ok make the deal, who is play D for the oilers next year year?
Rust is makign 3.5/ and klef is making 4.1/(i think)...so you are going to find another 30pt dman that is making 600,000 to replace that spot?
