Rough idea

Created by: Cham
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 27, 2020
Published: Aug. 27, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- Sign Krug to replace Maatta/CDH and get rid of the latter two in any way possible.
- The Manson trade is really just a pipe dream bc ANA would never move him and it’s really just someone who I think would be a great leader on this team and it’s essentially a swap of two d-men with down years with probably a pick also thrown in by the hawks.
- Toffoli Signed to replace Saad so we can move Saad for assets.
- Smith sent somewhere with cap space.
- Kampf sent to MTL since they’ll need to replace Domi and potentially Danault.
- Seabs packaged with Saad, Nylander, a second, and a prospect who looks really good but is too young to truly tell and with Ottawa nowhere close to competing they could take their time with him to make sure his defensive play can catch up to the rest of his skill.

One of Highmore, Hagel, and Suter will be able to play with Kane and Dach on the second line, Highmore and Hagel have the energy for it and Suter should have the skill for it although it might take him about half a season to get used to NA ice and earn that spot just like Kubalik.
The rest of the young guys like Barratt, Entwistle, and Carlsson should be competing throughout the first 30 or so games with the other depth guys for roster spots and hopefully we can get them to play to the best of their abilities doing that.

Ottawa deal wouldn't be bad if Seabrook didn't have so much signing bonus left. Keith would be an Ottawa move. Buy him out for 4.166667 over 6 years, trade Saad, at 3 mil, for more assets, get Nylander, a 2nd and a prospect. Chicago can re-sign Keith at a much lower cap number. That's an Ottawa move...

Yeah i could see that bc Murphy does have a bit more skill but Mansons physicality and compete level is something that the hawks need to rub off on their young players

Ottawa is looking to take on cap dumps but only 1-2 year ones. Maximum 3 if we get super good value. Seabrook for 4 years is just too much term for our timeline, we can’t have 7mil dead cap in that 4th year. It would be bad in the third year but the fourth is just a dealbreaker so we’re not interested there sorry.

Damn

I miss the old days when Florida Carolina and Arizona would just take on any bad contract for futures
