Description
Can't source this, but I was told that this is a hypothetical trade between the Habs and Flames.

Main pieces are obviously Gaudreau and Domi. Pick was unspecified but I'm assuming it'd be the 2nd rounder.

Considering the difference in talent level between Gaudreau vs. Domi, and the fact that Domi probably ends up making almost as much on his next deal as Gaudreau is currently making (Say $6-$6.5 vs. $6.75), I don't really think that a 2nd and Poehling make enough of a difference to make it happen.

Believe it's fairly risky for the Habs too. Gaudreau could easily bugger off after his contract is up, and even if Montreal weren't doing hot in two seasons and looked to sell him on, he has a 5 team trade list which handicaps them.

This is an even worse version of the already horrible offer proposed by that bad twitter account. Look what it cost San Jose to get 1 year of EK65 and work off that (obviously the assumption is the pick isnt 3rd OA).

Gaudreau is a great player but I wouldnt trade for him. Hes known to be invisible in the playoffs, doesnt fight for the puck in corners and is scared to get hit. We already have this type of player with Drouin

Yeah, I mean if it were a 1 year thing sure, you wouldn't get an outstanding haul, but 2 very reasonably priced years of an elite top line guy ain't gonna be cheap. If the cap stays flat, Montreal could potentially be a team that can afford to sign him in a couple of years.

It was Domi, Poehling, and a 1st that was the rumour started by a fake rumour account. It was bad for the Flames WITH the first.

Do you actually watch hockey or just listen to people talk about it? Johnny Hockey does not disappear, his linemates do.
