Regardless of the validity of this rumor (genuinely have no idea), I think they made the right move, which I know sounds crazy considering they'd be getting elite playoff performer Sam Bennett and yet another top-20 pick, but Rittich as a starter is scary. He's average at best and I think the Leafs need a legit top-10/15 goalie if they're to have success. Unless they'd flip Rittich to a team that needs a backup for like a mid round pick and then sign someone else with the money they'd save (not a bad idea), I can see why they'd reject.

Rittich is enough to get you to the playoffs but idk about after that. But a 1st and bennet theyd take that deal I would think

O h i don't believe theyd ever offer that. I wouldnt be shocked to see them sell high on bennet or trade up on rittich but that deal is bad for them.

I would say most people on here have no idea what players values are. So many over rate their own and under rate other teams players. As well as they don;t take into consideration other motivation for moving a player like trying to save your job now and the cost of later or personal issues with a player that are not made public. Everything is not so black and white

I have never seen it include a 1st and Rittich
99% of rumors are untrue or not happen
