How is LA getting an elite scoring winger for Byfield, if they just traded the 2nd overall pick to montreal for said elite scoring winger..? lol

sorry Timmah007, didn't mean to quote you and now idk how to delete and repost this

Not exactly sure what you're trying to accomplish but this makes MTL a much worse team and MTL already has some good prospects so this seems to be giving up a top 6 two-way center in Danault, arguably you best player in Tatar, and another high end player in Domi for basically one player. This seems to be taking a big step back as the team already has some great young players in Suzuki, JK, and Caulfield. In all honesty MTL should be left alone as is. They have the talent, they have the depth, if anything they need help on D and unless you plan on drafting Sanderson or Drysdale 1st overall, this seems like a bad move.

I found that odd too but I think meant it as the deal is laine for Byfield since LA has depth at centre. Not laine to play with Byfield.

No just that hes the consensus number 2 OA and that trading pick 2 for Laine means trading Laine for Byfield. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Drouin-Zuke-Gallagher
Laf-KK-Caufield
Lehkonen-Guy drafted 14 OA (Zary, Lundell if lucky)-Armia
Byron-Evans-Poehling

Chiarot-Weber
Romanov-Petry
Kulak-Fleury

Still pretty solid imo. Plus wed have 2 first rounders in 2021 as well as some really solid prospects in Primeau, Struble and Norlinder. Still have room for an os as well

Ok... So youre probably one of those homers who actually think Neal is worth something... His contract is worth 14th OA alone man

I don't think KK is good enough to center the second line and you'd probably want some veteran player on that line to help the two rookies. Zary doesn't look like he'll make the NHL right away. I still rather have Tuna and Danualt because if laffy or caulfield struggle, your team is screwed

A guy like Ylonen could probably soon fill that 3rd RW spot.

In order to keep Danault then, maybe we could make a deal with WPG thatd look a bit like this : Laine for Domi, Brook, 16th OA and 47th OA. Then Tatar to EDM for Broberg and Russel. Finally move from 2 to 1 fro Broberg and a second (after trading Laine for 2nd OA).

Totally impractical "sign and trades", they so rarely happen one year away from UFA. You think Neale is the worse contract in the NHL....he did have 35 points in 56 games, but you think Domi is 6m player and his 44 points in 71 games

Wouldn't say he's the consensus #2 OA but he's definitely up there. Not sure montreal would even bother trading laine once they acquire him tho... They need scoring wingers more than a C at this point.

Well, the whole point of acquring Laine and then trading him for 2nd OA is to move up to number one and get the local star winger

So broberg, byfield (2 overall), a 2nd, plus you are taking Staal? okay, rangers would think about that one. Other teams don't do those trades though, you would have to add.
