Description
So in this team i am trying to accomplish 2 things...improve D and bottom 6 as well as acquire an additional 1st pick so that we can hopefully draft both Schneider for our RD issue and Askarov as out future goalie

Jersey trade is a switch of Leafs 1st round pick in 2021 for Devils 2020, added Johnsson as sweetner to allow us to draft Askarov
Calgary trades send Engvall over for Bennett to add 3C grit and 2nd round pick for Rittich to be a tandem with Campbell
Carolina deal sends Andersen over for Foegell to add more size to LW and he can score and gives Canes a #1 goalie we also send the Penguins 1st we acquireed to get ours back to be able to draft Schneider
i then signed Brodie and DeMelo to improve D and Kerfoot and Holl are on LTIR but that is only so that they can be traded for pick or prospect and not sure what they are worth...everyone on here seems to have a different opinion on that.

Is Rittich an upgrade on Andersen...? Problem is leafs d. Let’s face facts - Marner contract is an albatross and tavares’ is likely 3M high.... leafs will need to move one of those pieces and rebuild d core if they have any chance.

Putting aside the value of the #7 overall pick trade (TOR would probably have to add #15 this year)...targeting specific players only works if you have #1 overall...unless this is done on draft day.

Andersen is the problem! LEafs backups had better numbers with the same Dcorp as Andersen.

As much as i agree those contracts are the issue the problem is i don't see Dubas trading any of the overpaid top 4.....which is i i did not do that here....and no Rittich is not an upgrade....more of a downgrade by trying to save cap space and run with a tandem of Campbell & Rittich

Why not....frees up cap space for them and they can then go sign a better goalie

Well i am not insane.....no need to be rude.....trying to work with what they have and also not getting rid of top 4 as i doubt any of them move,see Dubas hanging on to them another year.....i'd be more than happy to suggest the ususal and include the top guys but they wont be moved

I don't think anything, really. It's not a good match. It doesn't make any sense for NJD to slow roll the rebuild after the way last season happened.

Are they though? The last 4 years, Mrazek and Andersen have both had 2 up seasons and 2 down. Is Foegele with more control and 2 more spots in the draft worth finding out if we get 1 year good Andersen or bad Andersen? Goalies are voodoo, there isn’t a guarantee he will bounce back to a 12-14 GSAA.

Obviously you don't think it is...and i do......so i guess it would have to be up to them to decide that.....maybe Foegele is too much....trying to think outside the box here and work with what they realisticly have to work with .......or does this site need more core four trades that wont happen cause we all know Dubas isnt moving them.....personally i'd love to move one or 2 of the big contracts
