Go to this thread and read about how Dermott is a bad organizational fit for Detroit.

who cares where they get the 3rd from? The point is moving him somewhere for the pick.

More fascination with other teams players just because they shoot right handed. Barrie might have been the Leafs worse Dman this year.

I agree, the Leafs should swindle away quality players from their current teams for significantly less than their actual value if they can get away with it.

I have been doing some research on Larsson and I dont think he is what we need. Dangle and other analysts agree that yes he is good defensively but he sucks at puck transitioning. The leafs system revolves around that and Larsson will just look like another Cody Ceci out there.

Well Detroit's 3rd are at the top of the 3rd round where picks still have a decent probability of playing 100+ career games unlike at the bottom of the 3rd where the probability is much less...so it does matter. But in general you can say Dermott for a mid-tier or lower 3rd and certainly get less argument from me.

Maybe it would help to focus on d-men that can actually play defense so that 28th rated offenses and 27th rated power plays don't look like offensive juggernauts in the playoffs against you....instead of worrying about their offensive breakout capability. Or just have another 1st or 2nd round flame out by trying to outscore an opponent.

Dermott is a bad organizational fit for Detroit.
Its Vegas's 3rd rounder so likely it will be a late pick and it is a low-risk situation flip Nemeth for a 6th or 7th to someone and you have a spot for Dermott and if he truly does not fit he is on a 1-year deal, trade him at the deadline I do not think Detroit will say no to more defensive potential for the future. honestly don't see what the deal is about Detroit taking Dermott. Also on the Krug thing in my opinion with Yzerman as GM, I don't think he wants to go out and sign 30 yr old defenseman and have his salary hurt him when Detroit is getting good or already good. I do understand that Krug is from Detroit but I just don't think Yzer is up for signing big-name Free agents at least for now in Detroit's rebuild.
