Nope, Danault is not getting traded. And not for that package.

And here I am reposting this on every Danault trade because yall keep wasting my time...

Lol, Danault is not getting traded - the english hockey world can't translate french... and it shows.

Danault was asked by a dumb journalist about how he felt " becoming the 3rd Center he is supposed to be"

And his answer was mostly a f*ck you to that journalist... "stfu, I think I have proven enough with this club to be seen as more than a 3rd pairing center.

The guy drove one of the best 5v5 line in the league, while playing against the best offensive lines... so I understand why he was frustrated with the question

Agree with MTLaveragefan above, but the 10th OA should be include to START a conversation, otherwise it's useless
10th OA / Ehlers / Laine / Connor / Morrissey are interesting, the rest not really

The Jets aren't going to lower the value of 10OA by attaching Perreault to it, they'll just hold onto him. Niku could be moved for Danault, but there is no chance the Jets move 10OA for Danault.

Dude, if Kapanen can get the 15OA pick + some assets... you can be certain the Danault is worth more than Kapanen

You guys are making me repeat myself all the time

Now, I see why It can be misleading when you see a headline saying "Danault is unhappy" then seeing a quote out of context."

They are going to sign him before they sign Tatar, Gally and Petry.

And MTL doesn't want a pick for Danault - it wants a quality player back, not a maybe prospect.

I am a fan of none of these teams involved, but I have a question for the MTL group, Danault is a very underrated talent by many. I agree that these "trade rumors" are just created as an overreaction. I don't think MTL has much interest in searching for a Danault trade, and as long as they feature him as they've been doing all season then everything will be fine.

But for fun...

I was playing around with a Danault for OEL trade. Canadiens could attach Byron in on the trade or ARI take some retention from OEL's salary. How do you guys feel about that?

MTL fans think Danault is a young Guy Carbonneau with the amount of love he is given on this site.
Honestly, if the jets offered just the 10th overall pick they should take it, but I think that's an overpayment
I know he's good on both ends, but he's topped out at a career best 53 points and is due for a contract after next season. It would be bonkers IMO to deal the 10th in a very deep draft for him

It would be hard to say no for sure - but we'd try to deal Domi, Tatar, Drouin, and even Gally before that

But that's the thing - he is more than 53pts, he shuts down all the best line in the league AND gets 53 pts in the process, plus enables Gally and tatar to go full offense
