Lol, sure, send it. I'd want MB to try to haggle a bit.. but I'd be fine after 2 weeks of digesting the news

I made this specifically because ~Windjammer~ said Chevy would not even give that trade a second glance. I almost fell off of my chair when I read that! lol

Well, clearly Chevy would have an enormous task to make the fan base swallow that trade. Laine is loved there.

Same thing with Danault trades on our ends.

I'm sure they'd get over it quickly once realizing their roster is now better and more balanced.

For those of y'all who wants to see what ~MakingHistory~ did with the MTL roster after the proposed trade ---> https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/358498?post_id=1701957

Hell, having the 10th and 16th OA picks would also be huge for a team in a cap crunch, and also exciting for the fan base.

Has Laine finally grown out of his Fortnite phase? Quality for quality doesn't always work... look at Larson for Hall haha

The real question does it improve Winnipeg enough to not bubble for the 2/3 years, if not you keep laines potential, picking 10 and 16 is intriguing though. The adds don’t jump col, dal, and or St. Louis and possibly behind Chicago as well, battling Chicago, Minnesota, and Arizona for a wildcard after selling a possible future superstar doesn’t do it for me.

Don’t think it does.. It makes our forward core competitive but our entire defence crops r still at the younger side and inexperienced, not enough to open the gap... need a game changer for that and hoping it’s Laine

I’m one of a small minority of jets fans and thinks that scheifele should be shipped in the right blockbuster for max value, sooner rather than later, going to be a franchise changer and could get some people fired, but value out of him could propel the young jets forwards, would have to be a large overpay. But just my opinion

Big mobile dman sergachev type and a 2c with 1c potential possibly a cirelli type and need a pile of team control and fit in the nucleus of laine, ehlers, connor, morrissey, helly. Jets can’t win til they have two legit large dman. Jets blueline too undersized and upfront they need to get tougher also. I just don’t see the jets that close to a Vegas/Dallas, and a Tb/nyi final four. If your talking mtl, would be kk, Romanov, brook, and poehling, and probably some picks, would be ridiculous blockbuster, that possibly would look like a jets win, because jobs would be on the line.

Wonder if TBL would do it for Sergachev and Killorn/Johnson/Gourde instead of Cirelli

Juulsen and Mete = 2nd, Poehling to me is worth more than Drouin cuz he’s so much younger and an additional 2nd and 3rd

Chevy turns this down pretty easily and doesn't give it a second thought.

Domi - okay player but a malcontent whiny about ice time, a 4th liner in Montreal, so it seems they've given up on him. Poor defensively and not near the quality of player you want to trade for.

Drouin - a malcontent that has worn out his welcome on his second team and would be bottom 6 but in Winnipeg. Winnipeg would have no interest.

Juulsen - still hasn't fully recovered from an injury and can't crack a poor Montreal lineup. He's officially a bust. Worthless.

Mete - a tiny bad defenseman. The Jets have plenty of bad defenseman and don't need another. Almost worthless.

1st round pick - always nice.

Overall a low end quantity for quality offer. No matter how high you pile the garbage, it's still garbage.

I see you don't have an intelligent rebuttal, because there isn't one. I suspected that you had nothing to counter the facts I presented.

Enjoy your garbage pile of players.

Nahhh actually just enjoy giving you a taste of your own medicine rebutting donkey comments with a donkey answer.

But here, if you are so interested in actual facts and not your opinion... that trade is 4 former 1st round picks and a serviceable top-6 dman who plays DEFENSE, for Laine. I understand you're butthurt because he's probably your favorite player and you'll most likely cry if he gets traded, but do us all a favor and try to keep your S*** together my guy.

You definitely are good with donkey responses. Who the hell cares where a player was drafted. If you haven't noticed, Montreal has a black belt in drafting first round busts.

Players aren't valued on where they were drafted for the rest of their career. They're valued on what they provide now.

Try again to provide any facts that back up your position instead of responding likea child with hurt feelings.

Not to worry though Montreal has no shot at Laine.

Keep the trolling coming man, it's truly inspiring stuff!

It's quite comical you saying that Domi is a 4th liner, Drouin is a bottom 6 player, Juulsen is a bust, and Mete is a "Tiny Bad Defenseman" and talk about providing facts. Hmmm I wonder where you came up with those conclusions.? Your "eye test" is bar none hands down elite at evaluating talent. lmao
