I truly think we will chevy make a big move. He and Maurice both acknowledged that this team needs to be better defensively and there is a big hole at 2C. It may not be Laine or Ehlers or Connor, but I could see him at least attempt. Whether that be trades or FA

It’s just tough for me to believe that they doing anything more than bargain hunt there 3/4 3c and a couple depth defenseman, unless there’s an overpay like getting Kane out of town for there one blockbuster if there tenure

Possibly if there’s a fire sale team, that is desperate to cut money

Tampa bay should be a target. So many quality players but they will have to let some of them go due to cap problems.
Cirelli, Sergachev, Gourde, Palat, Johnson, and Killorn would all be solid pickups for the jets

Florida and Phoenix, more on cash flow, rookie gms and less on talent. I wonder if owners want out from under ekblad or oel contracts

Ekblad would be a good fit, I would personally stay away from OEL

Oel would lead to a sell high on pionk, but ya slide in ekblad right beside morrissey. Probably a sell of heinola also with a oel add, so ya definitely easier better fit in ekblad

Yeah I’m just not sold on OEL’s contract as he has been trending downwards the last two years in particular.

Hopefully not Ryan. That guy got the definition of carried. Dylan would be pretty decent I feel like

I think he could hold his own for duration of contract, atleast stay at that 5/6 million dollar defenseman offset with morrissey and need a couple monster rhd to be partners, yes his 8.5 would be large to eat, but could be a solid stabilizing force for the jets.

Dylan would be nice, I was hoping they would have done what Chicago did to get him out of Phoenix

Sergachev would be perfect pionk partner, but ya be expensive doing business for him and cirelli. I wouldn’t mind gourde even, his contract is a little rough, but he could be a poor man 2c or with ehlers and laine, might not be a bad fit.

From what I’ve seen Gourde would be a 55ish point player at least between guys like Laine and Ehlers, he can skate, and makes smart reads

Probably play throughout the lineup also, wouldn’t be a bad favor for jets to scoop him for cheap

I think Chevy will attempt to pull off a trade that only involves futures. Every future asset minus Heinola and Samberg should be on the table for a 2C. If some combination of the ‘21 first, Roslovic, Vesalainen + other prospects can net us a centre from a team with cap issues (TB, Yotes, Chicago), Chevy should be all over that.

I think the defense will be passable through UFA additions such as DeMelo and Dillon/Edmundson. Samberg should start on the 3rd pairing. Like it won’t be anything spectacular, it just has to be not horrific like this past season.

I think one thing that hurt moving to 4 divisions is less trade partners. Otherwise maybe faulk, bozak and sunquist, for Laine?
