Out with the old in with the new UFA Pietrangelo

Created by: kscoop
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 2, 2020
Published: Sep. 2, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Adding some gurth to the back line and some nasty. Pietrangelo is probably a pipe dream but I thought I'd try. Also added Borowiecki on the 3rd pairing to add a lot of nastiness to the d core although not sure he would leave Ottawa. Signed Haula short term as I think he fits the 3rd line mould. You can alter that line if you prefer Stud at C by moving Haula to LW and Bjork to RW. And I have Frederic as the 4th Centre. Big, strong and brings the heavy, nasty game.

What is with the recent Boston ACGM’s having Ritchie go to Detroit? We don’t have space for him nor is he worth anything. Guys like him are a dime a dozen in FA.

4 of your bottom 6 players are never going to be above the 3rd line, also, what is that Grzelcyk contract

I'm not sure what mean regarding the 4 of 6 players comment. And what's wrong with Grzelcyk's contract?

They are not supposed to be. And what’s the issue with it?

i dont mind haula but i dont think pietrangelo is what we need. we need left d not right. i think mcavoy and carlo as our 1-2 punch is fine. i think that left side is real weak and should be beefed up with a brendan dillon esq player.

I don't disagree at all. I'm just a fan of Pietrangelo. He can do everything.

Nice team. Not sure i’m crazy about the Petro signing. Rather add a goal scorer. Mac and Carlo are just fine as top two RD. Don’t get me wrong, it’s makes the back end great. But it’s not RD that needs fixing. Do need another wing.

Love Frederic at 4C and the Boro signing.

NSH declines. We have too many centers already.

Trading Krejci to move up Coyle and sign Haula doesn't make sense.

I don't want Pietrangelo, let's see what we got with Zboril and Vaakanainen and worst case we make a move at the deadline. We spent premium picks on these guys, give them a chance to succeed.

I’d be open to discussing a deal for Edmonton to land debrusk but if that’s not something into then I’d take a flier on Ritchie not a third but certainly have other assets that could be of interest.

I love Krejci but the thought process is to get something for him while at the same time keeping the centre position strong. Haula adds a ton of speed and versatility. I am a little hesitant with Coyle as the 2C but he's making 5.25 and to me that is 2nd line money.

As foundation for the deal yes but I understand giving up debrusk with limited offence to replace will be a hold up. So I’d offer to throw in rights to AA Boston throws in Ritchie.
Nurse +AA for debrusk and Ritchie.
Nurse > Debrusk in terms of value big minute muncher.
AA > Ritchie
I do really value debrusk and willing to take the hit value wise without getting hung up on picks.

If we were in charge of our teams we support we'd have a deal.

Bruins will never take Athanasiou, he can't play defense. They rather keep Ritchie, that's the worst part of it.

Honestly I completely understand why you might think that but his time since joining Edmonton and playing under Tippett showed a very different player in that defensive aspect. I was very surprised because I too believed zero defence to his game but under Tippett he looked more like a Defense first guy than a goal scorer so there is more to his game than we think. I’m just willing to move on because of the lack of chemistry he was able to find within our top six but to be fair on that point Boston plays very different style than Edmonton. I completely respect that opinion because very much understand it as I shared same but I’m really not nearly as concerned about defensive side as much now as was before.

If he did, good for him. But you rarely get to stay in the Bruins' lineup if you can't play average defense, at least. That's why I said that. Otherwise, he's good offensive player.
