If NSH trades Bonino, it's likely to shed salary. This deal doesn't do that, so I'd rather just keep Bonino. I really have almost no interest in adding Montour to the Preds.

Would the rights to Pilut interest you...he has an out of his KHL contract to come back to the NHL...or maybe the 3rd Buffalo acquires from Wash (Ari)

The values seem pretty fair in all of these trades. I agree with @villenash though. Montour isn't ideal for what NSH needs on the 3rd pair. There should be enough teams interested in Bonino that NSH could find a trade that fits their needs better, if they decide to trade him.

Haven't really seen any of Pilut's game, so I can't comment on him. Bonino is worth more than a 3rd though.

I don't know if Poile would be interested in dealing with players that will quickly bolt to the KHL after Radulov, but I also don't think the situation is that similar. But he may still have some PTSD though lol -- Pilut would interest NSH I think, however I also don't think he has a large amount of value though.

Pilut should have been in the NHL but Botts screwed him as he collected to many D with NHL contracts, he was the only one that could be moved to the AHL without waivers. He wanted a one way contract, didn't get it so went to the KHL

Given the recent news about Trenin, I don't know if NSH would be eager to repeat the same situation with Pilut too.

Adam Vingan is reporting his return to NSH seems unlikely right now. Close to signing in the KHL angry

If we are going to kill McCann's trade stock by adding Bjugs as a cap dump, I'd hope we don't have to take back another cap dump in Risto.

Oh, that is awful as I was really digging his game. I'm surprised Poile is offering a 2-way deal honestly. He's earned a spot on the team. If he does sign in the KHL, maybe it's a 1-year deal and it makes Seattle not want to select him in the expansion draft and then he comes back to NSH. But this doesn't sound good. Really bad news.

I agree. I can't see him not sticking with the Preds this season, and I don't think he's waiver exempt for the upcoming season so I can't see why giving him a one way deal would be an issue. Poile's penny-pinching at it's worst.

That's dumb of Nashville. He's earned a 1 way contract after his last season. I understand the bottom 6 is pretty full with bloated contracts but we should move away from them (Jarnkrok, Watson, Sissons, Bonino) before moving away from a younger up and comer like Trenin.

Can Montour play 2nd pairing? If so perhaps Nashville could move Ellis for forward help and let's Fabbro slide into the first pair next to Josi?

Nashville has 17 contracts with around 9M to fill out the roster...there are so many teams that need to clear cap and very few that can take on cap, it's going to be a buyers market this year. Teams are going to have to sell cheap to clear cap space or pay a premium to unload cap.
Question, what do you think it would cost Nash to dump 4yrs of Turris or the Sabres to dump 3yrs of Okposo? Virtually impossible with a flat cap unless it's equal money and term like it was Lucic for Neal.

I'm not sure what any of this has to do with NSH not being interested in Montour.

You said there will be enough teams interested in Bonino which may be true but how many can afford to take 4.1M, A team like the Sabres can. As for Montour you need a RD, plus he's a RFA that you control and his qualifying offer is only 3.5 and change. Does he fit the Nash system no idea, he's out of Buff bc he doesn't fit Kruegers system. You go younger on your D for one year of Bonino. If he isn't a fit in Nash then I will agree with you.

$3.5M is just too much for a 3rd pair defenceman. Bonino was one of NSH's best forwards last season. He doesn't HAVE to be traded, but if he is it would be for something that makes more sense for them than this.
