Bozak Stopgap

Description
The idea of Bozak+ for Hutton is intriguing to me. St. Louis reclaims their former starter to fill their newly emptied backup role and Bozak is good enough in my eyes to fill the 2C hole and, with the help of Johansson, guide Cozens in his rookie year.

Bozak is better than Hutton but because of opening $2m+ for signing Pietrangelo, St. Louis pays the difference and then a small something. Washkurak has a decently high ceiling imo and is a good prospect to get in return.

This could only happen if Bozak doesn't put Buffalo on his 10 team no trade list.

This dumps enough cap to sign Pietrangelo at 9.5m with a 21 man roster.

I’d think the Blues would be better off to trade Bozak and get something back, much like the Allen deal, then sign a backup or give Husso a chance.

they need to sign dunn too, they wont take back almost 3 million for hutton to be third string

I agree. Trade Bozak to a team that wants him, or say the Sabres to stay within this AGM, for a draft pick of some sort. Then give Husso a shot or go after a veteran journeyman like Hutchinson/Domingue/Condon/Kinkaid if any of those guys have any miles left on them.

Retain 50% on Hutton and maybe. But how do you get bozak to waive?

The Blues have less than zero use for Hutton. So you want us to take your trash dump and then pay you another prospect to improve your team for you? Uhh, no thanks.

I think every team is going to want to dump players they dont want for just draft picks.

We'd love to keep Bozak. He is not "a player we don't want". Circumstances dictate that he'll be traded.
