What’s the deal with Kuznetsov? Don’t get me wrong I know Wild fans would love to get him plus I’ve seen Capital fans ready to move on with him. Is there a rumor he wants out? Is it a cap situation?

He’s very inconsistent. Doesn’t show up every day and has a bit of an attitude. Not really a target for the Wild.

I think it's a mix of both. With Backstrom's contract kicking in, the Caps would be paying about $17 million per year for their top 2 centers. That's way too much, especially with Ovi, Vrana, and Samsonov up for new deals next year and the flat cap. And he's had some character issues in the past. But he's still a really talented player. I think a Fiala-Kuznetsov-Kaprizov line could be really fun

He is the only piece of "value" that Caps fans would be willing to move, because they do not understand the importance of the center. However, if you want to get, you need to give.

The Capitals do not need Brodin. Orlov is not a right defenseman. A #1center is worth more than a comparable defenseman.
The Capitals will never retain money on Hagelin.
The Capitals love Nic Dowd at #4 center. (see Tarik El-Bashir in the Athletic.
*If* the Caps move Kuzy (unlikely), they will extract a haul, addressing specific areas of need. (RD, veteran goalie, youth/speed on the wings, unless you need a top 2 C to fill the hole you create by trading Kuzy.)
