Sawchuck at 17 huh? I usually think of him as a top 5 guy, so many shutouts and an impressive number of Vezinas/cups. Idk about Thomas on the list either, 2 Vezinas and a Conn Smythe/cup is great ofc, but he played like 7 decent years in the NHL

Brodeur Roy Hasek Tretiak Plante Luongo Smith Vezina Esposito Hall Fuhr MAF are all guys with arguments for top 20, I’d be interested to see which aren’t in the top 10

Best goalie in the salary cap era? How so? Wins? He's also the oldest goalie in the salary cap era lol.

I'd be surprised if he's on anyone's top 10 list, but Tom Barrasso should be on the OP's 11-20 list before at least a few of the others. Of the one's you've mentioned here, I'd have him ahead of at least MAF too.

How the hell do you not have Ken Dryden not in the Top 5....

6 Cups in his 8 NHL seasons....
5 Vezina's in his 7 full NHL seasons....
Conn Smythe in his rookie season....
5 time NHL 1st Team Allstar....
46 shutouts in just 397 games played....
258 wins out of 397 games played....
80 wins out of 112 playoff games played....

He is the Mike Bossy of goalies...both played short NHL careers but are GOAT's in the category of best NHL goalie and pure goal scorer.

Didn't say he was the best currently. The best if you take these 15 years with a salary cap. Wins is a team stat.

Yeah Barasso has a case for top 20, it wouldn’t surprise me if he slipped to early 20s though so I wasn’t gonna raise too much of a fuss about those fringe guys (lol it amuses me calling one of the best players ever fringe for anything). MAF is one of the better modern goalies, but it seems harder to get that dynasty-like status nowadays (like get all the Vezinas/Cups/Conn Smythes in an 8 year stretch or whatever) cuz there’s so much parity. Price will have a case eventually too, especially if he goes on at least one or two more final 4 runs (he wins a cup he’s cemented in top 20). Osgood and Vernon are in that Barasso tier as well imo.

I was waiting for someone to do the research on this lol, Dryden should EASILY be top 10 (I have him at 6th behind Brodeur/Roy/Hasek/Sawchuck/Tretiak but I can 100% see why many people would have him top 5)
