Yeah, we know most on this site watched hockey last season. Also Hank (Zetterberg) is LTIR for his back.

No thanks on Barrie, We already have Hronek and Seider in our top 4 at RD.

Spending 10m on Barrie and Gudbranson makes the teams worse. Yea, the Wings suck, but soon they will have cap space and hopefully young players on modest contracts. The fortunes of the team can turn around quickly.

It does, but you can see a glimpse of what they're building towards. I genuinely hope that next year they're able to take another step forward and maybe in 2022 they can start thinking about playoffs.

As we all know this team is bad. That is the cost of being in the playoffs for all those years, especially when they should have held picks and maybe let the team go thru a better rebuild.

We are at the bottom of the barrel and there is no where to go but up, hopefully. The team has some good young talent, Larkin, Bertuzzi, Mantha, Hronek, Zadina, Sieder, and Veleno and alot of cap space. It will take time and patience. Teams that have won like Chicago may have handled better, but they are struggling, not as bad as Wings but they are in transition.

The team that I could see going thru this next is Pittsburg, as their vets are getting older and they continue to trade picks to keep the cup chase alive. Sooner or later it will catch up to them, as it did to the Wings.

It will have to be seen if Yzerman and his plan works out.

Barrie is just not all that good in the D zone, which is probably not worth spending $7M annually.
Yzerman has a history with TB.
What about foregoing Barrie and trying to OS Sergachev, Cirelli, or maybe Cernak?
